5G-Opportunity

The aim of the project is to develop and test a software-based wireless ad-hoc capable communication system for authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS) based on 5G/OpenRAN and WiFi in access and multi-hop radio relay as feed. Such a network should be immediately deployable in the event of a failure of regular communication networks (e.g. in the event of environmental disasters) and seamlessly support typical BOS services and applications on existing mobile devices as well as allow the population to access the network with smartphones, etc. A typical deployment scenario ideally consists of stationary and mobile ad-hoc units planned in advance.
